We had the pleasure of working with John Tiernan, owner of the Dockside Inn, on Martha’s Vineyard in branding his award-winning hotel located in beautiful Oak Bluffs. It has become a favorite vacation destination and is a perennial Best of the Vineyard award winner.

In 2012, John Tiernan and his business partner purchased the Dockside Inn located in picturesque Oak Bluffs Harbor, Martha’s Vineyard. They were in need of a complete overhaul of the older hotel that they had purchased and contacted us to help brand it for them.
The process started with multiple logo designs, and John instantly fell in love with this version of what we had sent over to him. Instead of a traditional bird, wooden dock, or sunset for dockside imagery, we decided to use the cleat as the focal point of the logo and surround the overall logo with rope to finish off the nautical theme. We finalized the logo with two tones of blue and a touch of white. This new logo is now a familiar brand to many as the Dockside Inn has become an award-winning hotel and a tourist favorite on Martha’s Vineyard.
Customers are able to use our vector files that we create for them in order to make anything they need for their business. John used the logo file that we made for him and sent it off to get a carved wooden sign made to hang outside the front of the hotel to welcome his guests when they arrive. Being able to see your brand come to life in physical products is part of the magic when owning a business. Our design files can be sent off to any reputable printer, sign company, promotional company, screen printer, etc. to make whatever you need for your business.
John has great ideas that go beyond the logo branding of his hotel. We worked with him to create postcards he sends off to his guests, or his guests can send to family and friends back home to tell them about their stay and adventures they are having on the island.
What would a hotel or vacation spot be without rack cards? Cards like these ones we designed for the Dockside Inn can be found in the hotel lobby and they can also be found at tourist spots around the Vineyard. Are you ready to come stay at the Dockside Inn?
We also designed several different “tiles” for the Dockside Inn that were placed in many different advertisement spots such as the Steamship Authority ferry services to help promote his business. These are a few of the many we designed for them.
